Shutting down a platform's container manager is equivalent to
stopping Openwings on that computer. To shut down a platform's
container manager, use a tree view window and right-click on the
platform you want to stop running. Select "Shut Down".

If the container manager was stopped successfully, you'll see
a message dialog saying that "<platform name> was stopped."
You can turn such message dialogs off in the
Options menu if you find them annoying. After a moment, the
platform should no longer appear in the tree.
At times, you may not wish to shut down the entire container
manager, but just an individual container (i.e. Java virtual
machine). Openwings 1.1 and later provide this functionality.
Right-click on a platform, and select "Manage Containers...".
A container management window will appear.

Here you can shut down a container by right-clicking on a container
node and selecting "Shut Down Container". Shutting down
a container stops all the processes running in that container,
without affecting processes running in other containers or processes
in standalone mode (outside a container).
Experiment with the other commands that are available in the
container management window. For example, you can display log
data and performance data for containers. When you are finished,
click the Close button to close this window.
