Openwings Services

Openwings provides a component framework for Service-Oriented Programming (SOP).  The following drawing shows the various services that make up the Openwings core. Moving your cursor over the drawing will give a summary of each service and clicking on them will actually bring you to the specification (not required reading for Openwings development). Each service is designed to be independent of the other services.

Place your cursor over a section to see corresponding comments below the image.

As an Openwings developer your focus will be on developing components. Openwings components can be any kind of Java program and are the core unit of deployment.  The Openwings installation service makes it easy to install and use your installable components.  Openwings component services provide a simple API for using and providing services.   This tutorial is intended to give you an understanding of how to use and develop in Openwings.
