Openwings Connector Expert Team
Charter
The charter for the Connector Services Expert team is to develop an
approach for connecting components together. A connector is a transport implementation for
connecting components together. It is envisioned that there will be three generic types of
connectors: Synchronous, Asynchronous and Streaming. The goal is to be able to define and
develop components independent of the middleware connection technology such that a
component may be deployed with a CORBA connector in one environment, but may use an RMI
connector in another. Examples of protocols that would be implemented using connectors
are: CORBA, RPC, RMI, Sockets, EJB, DCOM, etc.
The Connector Services Expert team will be responsible for developing
the following:
- The Openwings Connector Services specification
- Connector Services Reference Implementation
- Connector Services Compatibility Test Suite
Team Lead:
- Guy Bieber, General Dynamics C4 Systems
Team Members:
- Charlton Barreto, Ph.D., Borland Software Corporation
- Robert Sartin, Terrace Mountain Systems
- David Raymer, Motorola
- Joaquin Salvachua, DIT-UPM
- Tram N. Nguyen
